Problems Obtaining Kitchen Drapes? I Can Relate Read This

Probably my favorite space to spend time in is the kitchen. It has been that way in every house that I have lived in recently, but the one I currently have is a little to small to spend a great amount of time in. It seems like every kitchen that I have lived in recently has been equipped with the smallest windows imaginable and as a result has left me with a selection of only small window draperies. With that said, I cannot seem to find any sheers that I truly like let alone ones that I could fall in love with.

Lately I have spent way more time than I should need to searching for draperies for my kitchen. I find this to be utterly ridiculous but it is very true. I have gone everywhere and looked in all locations that I can think of and there is no draperies around that I like for my kitchen. It should be a simple matter of choosing a color or pattern that will match what is in my kitchen, but I have not found anything that appeals to me. If I’m going to look at something everyday, I want it to be something that I will enjoy. Sometimes I have a tough time finding the perfect drapes for all of the other windows in my home, but those kitchen shades are the ones that really drive me crazy.

There are currently kitchen curtains on the windows in my kitchen, but they are not something that I enjoy. They are one solid color, and I was wishing to find something with a pattern. It is a rather silly thing to whine about I know, but looking at them just brings me down and makes me feel glum.

I know for a fact that I am not the only person who has to deal with this problem. My mom is another person who has a habit of changing the window treatments in her kitchen regularly as she can never find a set she can deal with. My mothers lack of satisfaction with her draperies is understandable though as she has spent over half of her years on this earth inside of a kitchen.

I have recently thought about getting some fabric and making my own shades even though I am no seamstress. Though I know these are famous last words, it cannot be that hard right? There is plenty of fabric out there that I know I like as I have seen it and told myself that it would make a fabulous kitchen curtain. If I don’t locate something soon, I’m going to have to give in and sew. The skill for sewing curtains is something that I am not afraid of following, it is simply the fact that there is no sewing machine in my possession. My only option for sewing draperies is to break out an actual needle and thread and sew them by hand. After I am finished you might be more apt to use the curtains for a pillow case rather than a curtain but hey they will be in a pattern that I love.
